AI Outbound Calling Agent

An outbound calling agent works through a list, opens the conversation, handles the first round of objections, and hands anyone genuinely interested to a human closer. It exists so your salespeople spend their day talking to people who already said yes to a conversation.

Who it's for

Sales teams with more list than time.

What changes

Your humans only speak to people who said yes to a conversation.

Key takeaways

  • Outbound in India is regulated — DLT registration, DND scrubbing and consent are not optional.
  • The agent's job is to reach and warm, not to close. Closing stays human.
  • Connect rate depends far more on list quality and call timing than on the script.
  • ₹4–₹12 per minute all-in; builds in 4–6 weeks from ₹85,000 including compliance setup.
  • Ignoring the rules gets your numbers blocked, which is a business problem, not a technical one.

What outbound is actually for

The pitch that outbound AI replaces your sales team is wrong and it produces disappointed clients. What it replaces is the least valuable hour of a salesperson's day: dialling numbers, reaching voicemail, and having the same opening conversation forty times to find four people worth talking to.

The agent does the forty. Your closer does the four, with a summary of what was already said.

The compliance layer comes first

This is where most outbound projects should start and where most suppliers start talking about voice quality instead. Commercial outbound calling in India sits under TRAI regulation, and the practical requirements are specific.

  • DLT registration. Your entity registers on a Distributed Ledger Technology platform through a telecom operator, and your sender identity is recorded there.
  • DND scrubbing. Numbers on the Do Not Disturb register must be excluded from promotional calling. This is a live check, not a one-time filter.
  • Consent trail. For anything promotional you need to be able to show where the number came from and that the person opted in.
  • Calling windows. Promotional calls outside permitted hours create complaints, and complaints create blocks.
  • Clear identification of the calling business at the start of the call.

We build to these and we will decline to ship a system that treats them as optional, because the downside is not a fine — it is your numbers being blocked, which takes your existing business communications down with them.

Where the connect rate actually comes from

Clients tend to obsess over the script. In practice the script is the smallest lever.

A month-old list of people who downloaded something from your website will outperform a purchased database by a wide margin regardless of what the agent says. If your list is bad, fix that before buying this.

Handling the first objections

Most outbound conversations end in the first thirty seconds with a small number of predictable responses: not interested, send me an email, I'm busy, we already have someone, how did you get my number.

The agent handles each with a single short reply and then respects the answer. "Not interested" said twice ends the call and marks the record — no third attempt, no manufactured urgency. That restraint is deliberate: the cost of annoying someone who might have bought in eighteen months is invisible and real.

Where there is genuine interest, it books a slot in the closer's calendar during the call rather than promising a callback.

Handover to your closer

Every warm outcome reaches the salesperson as a calendar invite with the transcript, the summary and the specific objection that was raised. They walk into the call knowing what was said, which is a materially different conversation from a cold callback.

The CRM record is created automatically, including for the negatives, so you have an accurate picture of the list rather than only the good news.

What runs after launch

The agent with your script and objection handling, DLT and DND compliance configured, list management with suppression, calendar booking for warm outcomes, transcripts and recordings on every call, CRM logging, and analytics broken down by list segment and call window so you can see which lists are worth continuing.

FAQ

Outbound Calling Agent — your questions

Is AI outbound calling legal in India?

Yes, when it follows TRAI rules — DLT registration, DND scrubbing for promotional calls, a consent trail, permitted calling hours and clear identification of the caller. It is not legal to cold-call DND-registered numbers promotionally, with or without AI. We set the compliance layer up as part of the build.

How many calls can it make?

Concurrency is configurable and the practical ceiling is your telephony provider and your list, not the agent. That said, dialling harder rarely helps — a smaller, better list called at the right time beats volume, and aggressive dialling raises complaint rates, which is what gets numbers blocked.

Will people hang up when they realise it is a bot?

Some will, and some hang up on humans too. In practice the drop from disclosure is smaller than clients expect, and the people who stay are better qualified. Concealment would buy a few more seconds at the cost of complaints and reputational damage.

Can it call in Hindi or Marathi?

Yes — see our regional language voice bot for the detail. Outbound in a caller's own language noticeably improves engagement outside metro English-first audiences, and the same compliance rules apply regardless of language.
